Charouz Racing System welcomes Lirim Zendeli to its line-up heads to Barcelona for the third round of the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship.
““I’m really happy to be back and drive again. We have to be realistic, I haven’t been in a car for ten months and it will not be easy having only have 45 minutes of practice before quali, but I’ll do my best and try to help the team as much as possible. You can never leave out some surprises but let’s focus on the weekend and get the best possible result”.”
Lirim Zendeli
Almost one month after conquering the first point of the season in Round 2 at Imola, Charouz Racing System is ready to resume its 2022 FIA Formula 3 campaign at Barcelona with an updated drivers lineup that will see Lirim Zendeli rejoining the team after their season together in 2019. The German driver will inherit the seat from his compatriot David Schumacher, committed to the second round of its DTM season.
Zendeli will try, together with László Tóth and Francesco Pizzi, to get the most out of the work done by the team last month in the two days of official tests held at the Spanish track. A weekend that will start right away with the chase for the perfect setup and the ultimate speed, given that all of the three the drivers had already raced here and the team has a notable amount of data that will be very useful in order to find the right setup in a very little time.
The Czech team itself has raced here several times, with a good P4 scored last year, and has the right amount of experience to understand the conditions of the Circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya and adapt the cars in what will most likely be a very tight Qualifying and a very competitive two races.
The weekend will kick off on Friday with the Free Practice session and the Qualifying session, that will define the starting grid for the Sprint Race (20 laps) that will start on Saturday morning, while the Feature Race (24 laps) will go green on Sunday morning.
Antonín Charouz, team owner
“We arrive in Barcelona with great confidence. It’s a very beautiful track that we know very well and where we had a good testing session last month so we’re extremely ready to fight and score more points. I’m also glad to welcome back Lirim to the team, it will be nice to race together once again and to have a talented driver like him in one of our cars. It’s going to be a very interesting weekend”.
László Tóth
“After the small break I’m very much looking forward to drive in Barcelona, it’s a really nice track and hopefully it’s gonna be an exciting weekend for us!”.

“Imola was quite positive in the end, we grabbed the first point of the season so I think we can continue that way, also with the development we started in Bahrain. Hopefully we’ll get some more points in Barcelona”.
